Khuli Chana to Honour Late AKA at DStv Delicious Festival

South African rapper and Motswako pioneer, Khuli Chana, is set to pay tribute to the late Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes at the upcoming DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, scheduled for September 21. The performance will be a heartfelt homage to AKA, who was tragically shot and killed in KwaZulu-Natal on February 10, 2023.

AKA, known for massive hits such as Fela in Versace and All Eyes on Me, made a significant impact on both local and international hip-hop. As a close friend and collaborator, Khuli Chana will celebrate AKA’s life and musical legacy during the festival.

In a recent Instagram post, Khuli Chana shared his excitement about the upcoming tribute. “It is an honour to rock the @dstvdeliciousfestival stage in celebration of the life SUPA Mega @akaworldwide on the 21st of September. It is gonna be EPIC!” he wrote.

Chana also shared a video where he expressed his anticipation for the performance, saying, “I’ll be running, Jozi. I have been so patient. I am trying to keep my composure. I’ll be going on the super mega level.” He urged fans to bring their best energy, promising a memorable tribute: “Bring that best energy, best behaviour, great company.”

The DStv Delicious Festival is a significant event, celebrating 30 years of Creative Freedom in South Africa. It brings together diverse cultures through music, art, fashion, and food. Khuli Chana’s tribute to AKA is expected to be one of the highlights of the festival, offering fans an opportunity to celebrate the life and legacy of the Supa Mega.
