South African actress Nefisa Mkhabela, known for her role as Onalerona Molapo on e.tv’s House of Zwide, has shared her struggles with imposter syndrome. Despite her success, including a Royalty Soapie Award and roles in projects like Losing Lerato 2, Nefisa sometimes questions her abilities.
Nefisa admitted, “For me, my biggest thing I still try to get over is asking myself if I’m good enough at what I do.” She credits her fans and recent accolades for bolstering her confidence. “Seeing all the love, even from the recent project Losing Lerato 2, and winning a Royalty Soapie Award was on another level because I then get shocked and say, really, I can act,” she joked.
The 23-year-old encourages others to pursue their dreams with determination. “The sky is the limit, and nothing can stand in your way. If God says this is your future and your destiny, who’s the person next door to say anything?”
Nefisa’s passion for acting stemmed from her family’s involvement in the industry and her own bubbly personality. She described her experience on the set of Losing Lerato as enjoyable and challenging, highlighting the supportive and friendly atmosphere.
